The Olympics are here!

As you probably know, NBC has exclusive U.S. broadcast rights to the Olympics.  They have this exclusive right through the 2012 Olympic Games.  In past Olympics (also broadcast by NBC), it has been very difficult to figure out when the dressage, or for that matter any equestrian competition, will be on the television.  The Internet make this sooooo much easier.

Dressage, Show Jumping, and Eventing Olympic TV Schedule

• Aug 9: 3-Day: Dressage 2:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. on USA
• Aug 11: 3-Day: Cross- Country  6:00pm-8:00pm OXYGEN
• Aug 12: 3-Day: Stadium Team Gold Medal Final  6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. on OXYGEN
• Aug 13: Dressage  6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. on OXYGEN
• Aug 14: Dressage Team Gold Medal Final  6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. on OXYGEN
• Aug 15: Show Jumping  6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. on OXYGEN
• Aug 16: Dressage Individual  5:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. MSNBC
• Aug 17: Show Jumping Team Gold Medal Final 1st Round  10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m on NBC
• Aug 18: Show Jumping Team Gold Medal Final Round  6:00pm-8:00 p.m. OXYGEN
• Aug 19: Dressage Individual Gold Medal Final  6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. on OXYGEN
• Aug 21: Show Jumping Individual Gold Medal Final  10:00am-1:00 pm

As you can see, the first day already looks questionable.  How are we going to watch from 2 AM until 2 PM?  I don't want to fill up my DVR with 12 straight hours of beach volleyball and whatever else that happens on day one.  Of course we could fast forward, but that would be painful.  Still, you know we will do it, if only to get a glimpse of one ride right before they cut to the 5 hours of wrestling :-)

If you live in one of the 75 countries where someone does not own exclusive rights, such as Korea, youtube will stream the games to you.  NBCOlympics is also planning to stream live Olympics content of more than 3000 hours.

Please do not rely on my posted schedules!  I would not want to be the one who blew your Olympic watching dreams.  Check out the NBC web site for full details. 

They have a streaming video schedule and you can even set alerts to be send to your email and cell phone for the events you want to watch.

WATCH: Team and indvidual eventing dressage.

I only have 20 minutes until the eventing dressage starts live streaming.  At least if I do not miss any on TV, it will be in high definition for the first time, and it will be live online!
