I have been wanting to create a video sharing site like YouTube with just horse and dressage videos.  I thought it might be a good idea to add my own videos to the site first and allow viewers to rate and comment on them.   Videos take up a lot of storage space so I have not completely decided to allow others to add clips yet but I probably will in the near future.  If you join the site, you can add links to videos on YouYube and Google Video that will play within the Dressage.TV site.  I will probably be adding other community features to the site such as polls.

We have done a fair amount of traveling to Germany, Holland, and France for horse related trips.  We have been from one end of Germany to the other numerous times (sometimes 3-4 times per year for horse shopping) over the last 8 years.  We have been to Holland a few times, and have been to France a few times.  Although we did not go to France for horse shopping, we incorporated horses in the trip in one way or another.  Vicki went on a two week ride throught the Loire Valley, staying at a different private chateau each night with one of her clients around 1990.  Vicki and I both went around 1998 and we went to the horse village of Chantilly, where the Living Horse Museum aka the Grand Stables and the Chateau Chantilly is located. That is another story and a place not to miss if you in the Paris area.  Its a 45 minute train ride out of the Paris station.

With most of these trips I realized that I really do not have a lot of horse videos for general viewing.  Mainly all I have is a lot of photos and videos of horses for sale.  I realized I probably needed to create some new more current videos.

We decided to attend the CDI in Raleigh May 31, 2008 and create videos of all of the rides for the the FEI Grand Prix Musical Freestyle.  I also created the site Dressage.TV and started it off with these musical dressage videos. 

It was not my intent to unlease these videos to a general audience.  I emailed our Friends list and a few of them posted the link on a few forums.  Within hours, I had hundreds of visitors.  It was a good test run of the system.  I made a few adjustments to some of the videos.

In the FEI Grand Prix Musical Freestyle class, there was one scratch and a total of 9 ride vides.  Of course a lot of people like Goerge Williams (USDF VP) and Rocher, but Lars Petersen (Denmark) riding Sucess was the clear winner- a fantastic ride!  North Carolina's own Joe Sandven had a nice ride too.  I like his horse Rachmaninoff.  We met Joe for the first time, in Germany when he purchased his mare.  I believe the mare won the young horse class at the show, but we did not see thier ride.
